I’ve always been a great goal setter. Remembering them and sticking to them? Not so much. When I saw this post from Acorns and Lemonade I was like “Hey! I can do that!” The idea is that you make 16 goals for 2016 that are fun, creative and easy to achieve. I would love to live a more purposeful life and I think that this is a great start!
1. READ JESUS IS BY JUDAH SMITH.
I used to be really good at reading books. I would read hundred a year! Now I’m lucky if I read one. I borrowed this book from my sister in law way before she was even my sister in law, so i need to get it read ASAP!
2. PAINT THE LAUNDRY.
This year I learnt that I hate painting walls. I’ve lived with an unpainted hallway for 6 months and my motivation to paint it isn’t really that high. Maybe painting the hallway will inspire me to continue with the rest of the house?
3. ONE RANDOM GIFT PER MONTH.
I love giving gifts so why not do more of it?
4. THROW SOME PARTIES!
We live about an hour from any of our friends so if we have people over, it’s usually a whole group. We would love to entertain more by throwing some sweet dinner parties!
5. MEET SOME PEOPLE OUT HERE.
I’ve been living out in the sticks for almost a year now and know nobody. I would really like to change that and have at least one person I can visit!
6. INCORPORATE MORE FITNESS INTO MY LIFESTYLE.
I’m pretty sure that some form of this goal gets to everyone’s new year’s resolutions. I’m going to start by taking more walks!
7. FINISH DECORATING MY OFFICE.
I don’t have one room in the house that I’ve finished. This needs to change!
8. TAKE SOME REALLY GOOD PHOTOS.
Recently my hubby bought me a new camera but I don’t know how to use it well yet. I would love to learn to use it better to take some amazing photos.
9. VISIT HANMER SPRINGS.
This place is seriously beautiful! (See here.) My best friend Juliette has just started working there and I would love to make a trip up to see her!
10. RELY ON GOD MORE.
Jesus is my superhero but I don’t think I remember that enough. I would love to spend more time reading my Bible, praying and relying on him.
11. TAKE AN E-COURSE.
There’s about 101 amazing e-courses out there that I would love to take. I think I’ll start by doing one!
12. WORK WITH A BRAND ON MY BLOG.
I would love to start working with some great blogs on here. So yes, pick me!
13. USE AT LEAST 15 RECIPES FROM A SINGLE RECIPE BOOK.
I always end up cooking and baking the same old things. I really want to branch out more and I’m planning to start by making 15 recipes from this book by Sophie Gray.
14. MORE DATE NIGHTS.
Dragging Aaron off the farm can sometimes be like pulling teeth. We think it’s super important to still date even though we’re married so incorporating more dates would be lovely!
15. COLLABORATE WITH ANOTHER BLOGGER.
There are so many other clever ladies out there! I’ll let you in on a secret: I’ve planned a collaboration or two for next year!
16. PRINT SOME PHOTOS.
The curse of modern technology means that photos stay on screens and cyberspace rather than getting printed. I really need to catch up on my photos and print some more. I’m thinking photo books!

Hi Brittney, I’m so glad you posted this. I have been trying to get motivated to create a new post with the craziness of the holidays and your post has definitely inspired me! I think I may create a 16 for 2016 and join in the link up. I will link back to you as well! Great post!
Oh, and I would be curious to know how you network with other bloggers? I am very new and I would love to find other bloggers to work with. Thanks!

Thanks Crystal!
16 goals makes it so much more easy right? I think the link up closes on Christmas Day!
I’m part of a few Facebook groups for bloggers and also read blogs such as the Nectar Collective (http://thenectarcollective.com) that hosts webinars and Twitter chats where I meet bloggers. Link ups are also a great way to meet other bloggers. If you’re interested, have a look at Building a Framework (the book in my side bar). It has taught me EVERYTHING I know about blogging to date. Such a great resource!!!

Just clicked through to your blog and see you’ve obviously read Building a Framework too! It’s so good! :)

Yes! Building a Framework is the reason I finally felt confident enough to start my blog! I have listened to a webinar from The Nectar Collective so it sounds like I’m on the right track. Thanks for the advice!
