If you follow along on Instagram or Facebook, you would have hopefully seen some of the #30thoughtsonkindness posts. This has been a little project that started on the first day of September and spilled over to October. I want to say a massive thank you, to everyone that participated in this project. It really did make my heart full and I know there were a lot of people that were  blessed by all the things everyone had to say.
Take a look at all the posts below. There were so many great ones there!
Day 1: Ever So Britty
The thing about being kind is that it doesn’t need to be difficult and complicated. Smiling at a stranger isn’t hard. Giving a compliment isn’t hard. Listening to a friend who needs you isn’t hard. Like anything, it can be hard to form the habit, but sometimes you just need to start. ? Its simple things that can make a big difference.
Day 2: With the Whittakers
If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all… and if you DO have something nice to say, SAY IT! You might make someone’s day, so instead of just thinking ‘I love that outfit’ but not saying it – let the person know ?
Day 3: Ever So Britty
I have come to realise that kindness and acts of kindness are simply the practicality of love. My Dad had showed me so much kindness over the years. From helping me with projects, to rubbing my head to make me fall asleep when I was little. It’s all shown me how much he’s cared and how much he loves. Happy Fathers’ Day!
Day 4: Megan from Neverland
Smile at strangers. Smiles are contagious and can change someone’s whole mood.
Day 5: Design by Morris and Co
Being kind is free!!! We should literally be throwing it everywhere. A simple kind comment or gesture can change someone’s day, week, month or even year. Be kind & just be a nice person x
Day 6: Miss & Trilly
Our children learn what they see. Show them kindness.
Day 7: Life with Lochlan
It’s so easy for us to scroll and say kind things on our friends photos but then we look in the mirror and struggle to say one kind thing about ourselves. Although it’s important to be kind to others, we also need to give ourselves the same love, respect and kindness, whether it be our appearance, our talents, our successes or our work.
Day 8: I am Stellar Blog
Be kind to each other, always. You never know what is going on in someone’s real life, beyond the filtered pictures and what seem to be genuine smiles. You never know how your words or actions may affect someone. Be kind, always. ?
Day 9: My Sisters Dress
The sun doesn’t choose who is worthy of its warmth, it shares its rays with all who want to bask in them and even those who don’t! Be the sun, share warmth with everyone you meet, let your rays bring happiness to all those you encounter!
Day 10: Laura Jeffares Hair and Flowers
When I think about kindness and the kindest people I’ve had the honour and pleasure to have in my life, I realised they are the beautiful souls who make EVERYBODY feel like SOMEBODY. X
Day 11: Best of Blomaarts
We live in a world where we have great freedom, why would you use that freedom to create misery? “In a world where you can be anything, be kind!”
“Open your mouth, only if what you are going to say is more beautiful than silence”
Day 12: First Milestone
instagram – facebook – website
My kindness thought is business related but it can be applied to friends, love, life in general. Something people often seem to forget is that there is usually more than enough customers to go around and one person’s success is not hinged on bringing other people down – no one’s is! Being a nice person never hurts – in fact it feels pretty good.
Day 13: The Tulip Room
I teach a year 2 class of adorable kids and we’re learning about making other feel good. We got some ideas off the trolls movie and now we’ve painted a whole lot of rocks (to sell for our market day) that we’re hoping will make others feel good. We have learnt that being kind doesn’t just make the other person feel good, it makes you feel good too!!
Day 14: We are the Watsons
Becoming a mother has taught me a lot, one of those things is the importance of kindness in its many form.
Be kind to yourself – bringing up a family is a massive job. So give yourself a bloody break and take a breath would you?! And realise you’re a real badass Mama who keeps your kids alive on a daily basis.
Be kind to your kids – they aren’t aware of all the stress you have going on in your life, and they don’t need to be. Love them, get down to their level and spend time being silly, doing things kids do.
Be kind to your heart – let go of your regrets and forgive yourself. Don’t hold yourself hostage on all those decisions you think you made wrong or the feelings that make you guilty. You’re human, and you’re doing your best.
Be kind ????
Day 15: The Uhila Collective
“I am a firm believer of treat others the way you wish to be treated and whilst everyone is fighting their own battles inside I always try to spread kindness where I go. From talking to people when out and about with my tribe, a simple smile , thank you’s and have a nice day…. life really is to short to be unkind!!
Day 16: Joanna Westwood
One of the most important values I want to instill in my children is kindness. I came across this quote recently and it has stuck with me: “A little spark of kindness can put a colossal burst of sunshine into someone’s day” This is so true! ✨
Day 17: Kate Cushman
Be kind to yourself. Give yourself grace. Feed yourself good food. Do something you love. After all you were fearfully and wonderful made.
Day 18: The Culture of Grace
Once saw a book titled ‘should we be so random in our acts of kindness’ and it got me thinking. Should we? Or should it just be part of our daily lives. Something we wake up and just do because being a kind human is something we should all WANT to achieve, not something we cross off the to do list.
Day 19: Kendall Booth
“People need to be bringing each other up instead of tearing each other down, because in this society it is so easy to get lost in the hatred, people need to be encouraging and supporting each other not being negative to each other. It is so unnecessary to be mean, if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it at all!!” ??
Day 20: Hannah Tan/Tan Squared Youth Min
For some people kindness isn’t easy at all. I think it’s so important to show kindness regardless of how others react to it, no strings attached. They may have never been shown kindness before, they may have no idea how to receive it from you. They may even reject it. But if you have been shown love, keep giving it. If you have been shown kindness, keep giving it. No strings attached. And by doing so you can help make kindness easier for those who find it hard.
Day 21: Lauren Gibson Photographer
“Here’s a little quote I found a while ago that I think hits the kindness nail on the head. ‘No act of kindness, no later how small, is ever wasted .’ -Aesop ”
Day 22: Rob Mel Charlie
“Kindness is a language that the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” ?
Day 23: On Becoming Esther
“Be a cheerleader for the people in your world- encourage them in their endeavours; notice their strengths and the things they do well and tell them. Send that text, write that card, make that call and brighten someone’s day by calling out the gold in them and letting them know that you see it!”
Day 24: Outside the Box
“Be good to people. You will be remembered for your kindness than any level of success you could possibly attain” – Mandy Hale
This is a quote I live by, and something that I hope my children always remember. I hope they always smile at strangers, say please & thank you, and compliment others. Our kindness towards those around us will always be remembered, so let’s make it count !
Day 25: Megan McGregor
There’s something about a handwritten note that just feels more meaningful than a text or email. It’s personal and something that you can hang on to forever! Next time you want to share appreciation for someone, do it the old school way and get out your pen and paper and start writing. Way to be a world changing wordsmith. ?
Day 26: What Renee Writes
“Blowing out someone’s candle, won’t make your candle shine any brighter.” My dad calls it “Candle Syndrome”, and to this day it’s how he comforts me when I’m upset about someone being deliberately unkind. Use your spark to light the way for someone who might be lost. I’ve connected with a lot of people who are struggling behind the scenes – you will be surprised who might need some warmth from your flame. Be kind to people, and be gentle with yourself because a little love goes a long way.
Day 27: The Wholesome Co
When I originally sat down and wrote what I ‘thought’ kindness should be I thought I had it. To smile to say thanks etc. Now these are all acts of kindness but when I really thought about it I knew there was more too it. Kindness is within us. It’s who we are. It’s what makes the world go around. It’s everywhere. Kindness is something that can not be explained it just is. It’s love, it’s sharing, it’s soul, it’s being thankful and giving. Kindness is about putting back the vibes that we attract and ultimately kindness is connecting with others. Be kind.
Day 28: All Soul Good
“Kind words, teach your kids why being kind is important because a world full of kindness makes the world a better place.”
Day 29: Paige Cook
Even if someone is being mean, always be kind. You never know what’s going on behind closed doors. Throw away the nasty things that you want to say and choose to be kind. Leave a little sparkle everywhere you go. ✨
Day 30: Ever So Britty
Being kind means helping others out and saying yes if you can. A huge thank you to all those lovely people who helped out with this project and said YES when I asked. You ladies are the BEST.
Again, thank you all SO MUCH for contributing. It really has been such a wonderful blessing.
