Cleaning with essential oils can be so much fun! I love getting to customise my cleaning products to my likes and needs. Here’s a few of my favourite cleaning recipes.
Multi Purpose Spray
This is the recipe that got me into DIY cleaning. I love that its totally customisable. I use a 500ml glass spray bottle.
First option:
-1/2 white vinegar
-10 drops On Guard
-10 drops Lemon
-water
Second Option:
-1 tablespoon On Guard cleaner concentrate
-water
-10 drops of EO of choice (I love Spearmint)
Window Cleaner
This one you want to combine in a 500ml spray bottle. You can use the same ingredients in a bucket for outside windows too!
Ingredients:
-1 cup white vinegar
-1 cup water
-10 drops lemon essential oil
How to make:
-Combine in a 500ml spray bottle.
Toilet Bombs
These are a fun one to make with kids and great for the husbands after they’ve ahem… made a mess. My favourite oils for these are Purify, Lemon and Tea tree!
Ingredients:
-2/3 cup citric acid
-2/3 cup baking soda
-1/3 cup salt
-water + 20 drops essential oil.
How to make:
-Combine dry ingredients.
-Combine wet ingredients in small (30ml) spray bottle and mist dry ingredients.
-Combine until the mixture is damp (not wet) and pack firmly into moulds.
Microwave Cleaner
This is a fun and easy one!
Ingredients:
-1 cup water
-10 drops lemon
-10 drops tea tree
How to:
-Combine ingredients in a microwave safe jug.
-Put microwave on for 5 minutes.
-Wipe out.
Air Freshener
There’s a reason why traditional air fresheners make you cough. They’re bad news! Get creative and make your own custom scent! I like Purify or anything citrus!
Ingredients:
-100ml water
-1 teaspoon witch hazel
-20 drops essential oil
How to make:
In a 100ml spray bottle combine the above ingredients.
