Today I am super excited to have the super talented Vaida from Don’t Tell Anyone here to share her crispy fish and chip recipe. It looks so tasty! Over to her.
Imma real fan of a fish. I guess that’s one of the reasons I’d love to live by the ocean or a sea. There’s nothing better than a freshly caught & cooked fish. So yum yummy! That’s probably why I always look forward to Christmas Eve as it’s a real fish festive here in Lithuania. Most of the dishes we serve, and eat on Christmas Eve are made from a fish. That’s the tradition which I will be following for the rest of my life, I’m pretty sure about that!
For this you will need:
• 4 pieces of white fish filet
• 1 egg white
• 2 tsp of black & white sesame seeds
• 2 tbsp of grated almonds
• 2 slices of whole grain bread
• 1 tsp of grated garlic
• 1 tbs of grated paprika
• few bunches of cherry tomato
• 4 potatoes
• fresh dill
• fresh basil
• sea salt & pepper
• your favorite fish seasoning
• olive oil
preparation:
• Preheat the oven to 190 degrees.
• Crumble the two slices of whole wheat bread. place it on a baking tray. Add little bit of oil, and leave it in a oven for 5-7 min.
• Put the grated almonds, garlic, paprika and sesame seeds in a bowl. Add the baked bread crumbles, your favorite fish seasoning, sea salt & pepper, mix it all.
• Chop the potatoes into your favorite slices, put them on a tray, add some olive oil, sea salt & pepper, bake it in the oven till it’s ready.
• Beat the egg white. Roll in the fish file, and place them on a baking tray as you see in a pictures below. Chop the dill and add pour it on the fish.
• Pour the mixture of bread crumbles, almonds, sesame seeds and garlic on the fish file. pour little bit of olive oil, and put the tray in the oven. Bake it till the top gets light brown.
• At the very end put the bunches of a cherry tomato to the oven, bake till they are ready.
• Serve potatoes, fish & cherry tomato with some basil on top in one plate.
