It’s December! Which means it’s only right that I share some Christmas DIYs. I decided to start a mini series called ‘Get Crafty for Christmas’ with this being the first. I hope to share a few more crafts and DIYs not only here on the blog, but over on Instagram (@eversobritty) using the hashtag #getcraftyforChristmas. I would love if you could join me, so tag me so I can see your projects. Let’s get started on this DIY Christmas Tree Centrepiece!
What you need really depends on what you want yours to turn out like. I used card, battery operated seed lights, glitter, paint, silver/gold cellophane and some standard craft tools.
Start by rolling the card into a cone shape. Once you have the desired shape, secure with hot glue. Trim the bottom edges so it sits flat and it the height you desire.
For the cellophane fringe tree, I used my rotary cutter (which I love!) to cut slices up a 1 inch strip. I taped the very bottom layer and glued the rest up to the top.
I had the silver side of the cellophane facing outwards which reflected the gold side underneath, creating a really pretty effect.
For the silver cone, I simply painted it with silver paint and covered with glitter, adding a wee gold star to complete it. The cone with the seed lights was a somewhat of a nightmare. I glued the end of the seed lights to the tip and wrapped the lights around the cone going downwards. What I failed to realise, was that I was creating a giant spring that leapt off and tangled itself if I wasn’t holding it tight enough…use tape people.
Tada! I put mine on a round of wood in the centre of my dining table. Have a play around with sizes, number of cones and textures. Warning: its totally fun!

P.S. What colour should I paint my dining table?

Your Christmas trees are pretty and look so simple to make. I like the round wood there on to. Just need a little bit of fake snow now (-;

Thank you Linda! Hahaha it’s supposed to be summer here so I don’t want any reminders of cooler weather. ;)

Brittney, I love all of these, especially all grouped together and placed on that tree trunk ring. I love it! I want a few of those to use in our decor. I think my favorite tree is the one with the fairy lights, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen those in the store before. I love the way is twists around the tree!!! Merry Christmas!!!

These are stunning, Brittney. When I first saw them I thought you had bought the cardboard cones, but I see you made them as well. I love how they are all different but all go so well together. Thanks for sharing with the Blog Fair, this was our most popular post this week. Your posts are very popular, and I can see why!
