I’m a big fan of putting together parties and celebrations. I just love an excuse to get together with friends AND to use my creativity to make decorations. This gold holographic garlandĀ came about after I made something very similar for a friend’s wedding. These are super easy to make andĀ can be adapted to create so many different looks.
For the garland I did for my friend’s wedding, I cut circles with a punch from card. However, I found this pre cut confetti dots and knew that these would save me a lot of time. You can buy these exact ones here at Pop Roc Parties, or punch your own from card.
This is one of the easiest sewing projects possible, so don’t be afraid to get out that dusty machine of yours. Simply run down the centre of the dot, run the machine another centimetre without lifting the foot (the two threads will twist together) and then feed the next dot in.
Bam! Its that easy.
Make sure that you wrap them up around a piece of card so they don’t get tangled. I may or may not have cut off a section that was too far gone to be saved. Oops. Have fun playing around with this technique. They can be made with your choice of colour, shape or material!
