Back when I first started blogging Happy Weekend + 5 Things I Love was a regular series. I haven’t done any posts for the series in agggggeeees, so I thought I would bring it back. Because why not right? So here’s a wee collection of things I’ve been loving, wearing, watching, listening to, eating or sharing lately.
ONE. Lulu Avarcus Sandals
The weather is Southland lately has been absolutely beautiful! I’m quite a low maintenance girl in terms of shoes (who can be bothered with laces and straps?!) so my Lulus are perfect for slipping on when I run out the door. I have rose gold with black straps. My next pair I’m eyeing up are the white and tan. SO dreamy.
TWO. When Calls the Heart
It’s no secret that I’m a Netflix fan. When I’m fluffing around the house, whether it be folding washing or cooking dinner I like to watch something. When Calls the Heart has been my guilty obsession lately. Although there’s not actually anything to feel guilty about because its a really wholesome series. It’s set in the early 1900s and is about a privileged school teacher who decides to teach in a small mining town in the Wild West of Canada. Its taught me a bunch of life lessons and has even challenged my faith.
THREE. Heart from Hazel throw
My beautiful arm knitted throw is still going strong! It’s so cuddly and looks AH-MAZING in our bedroom. Because it’s 100% wool, it has a lot of warmth to it too. I’m a very cold sleeper so sometimes on cooler nights I’ll lay it on top of my side of the bed and I keep so much warmer. P.S. I totally did a blog post about how I made it here.
Buy your own throw or wool here.
FOUR. Diamond in the Dirt
At Sistas I managed to get my hands on Maree De Jong’s book Diamond in the Dirt. I bought it for my Mum but luckily for me, I managed to sneak a quick read through it before it got to her. It follows her story growing up, losing family members, getting heavily involved in drugs and then finding a new way of living. It was an inspiring story with some really great lessons. I read it in two days and really enjoyed it. 5 stars from me!
FIVE. Eye Shade It pallet from Sportsgirl
I bought this pallet a while ago while I was in Australia and its hands down, one of the best makeup buys I’ve ever made. The 9 colours are perfect for creating a warm brown eye through to a dark smokey eye. Although super affordable, the product is great! It’s nicely pigmented and with proper preparation (primer, concealer, etc), it easily lasts all day without settling in the creases. I’m eyeing up their other pallets now!
Happy weekend everyone!
