Do you have a morning routine?
Remember at highschool when you would roll out of bed, throw on your uniform, cake your face in Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse, chug down a bowl of Nutrigrain and run out the door? The life.
But I’m not 15 anymore!
I LOVE my morning routine. It’s vital for setting myself up for the day. It helps me to start the day more calm, organised and intentional. I find that getting up before my baby girl (who’s almost one) is a MUST. It means that I get a bit of time to myself, am able to shower in peace, exercise without a clinger and everything else.
My morning routine actually starts the night before! I like to prepare my future self by cleaning the house after dinner, filling up my water bottle before bed and planning the next day. This means when I wake in the morning I’m already on the front foot, and also happy! Mess makes me grumpy and stressed so its super helpful for me that the house is tidy first thing in the morning.
How you wake up each day and your morning routine (or lack thereof) dramatically affects your levels of success in every single area of your life. Focused, productive, successful mornings generate focused, productive, successful days – which inevitably create a successful life – in the same way that unfocused, unproductive, and mediocre mornings generate unfocused, unproductive, and mediocre days, and ultimately a mediocre quality of life. By simply changing the way you wake up in the morning, you can transform any area of your life, faster than you ever thought possible.

So what does my morning look like on a perfect day?
6.15: Wake, shower, get ready for the day. Sometimes I’ll get up a bit earlier and exercise here too.
6.45: Make bed, tidy bedroom, collect mail.
7.00: Journal, set intentions, read my Bible, pray, drink water.
7.20: Start on today’s tasks until baby wakes between 7.30 and 8.00.
7.45: BF baby. Drink more water (one whole bottle by now).
8.00: Prepare breakfast. Eat together at the table. Take supplements.
8.20: Clean up breakfast. Turn diffuser on. Apply oils.
8.30: Begin the day!
It’s not perfect, and someday doesn’t happen, (like this morning because the cat woke the baby 🙃) but I alwaaaays try to prioritise it. Even on weekends!
Tell me, do you have a morning routine? What does it look like?
