Sometimes I have this idea that everything must be completely finished to perfection before I post it on social media or the blog, but hey! That’s not real life is it? If I waited until I thought this room was perfect I wouldn’t be sharing it for another 3 years yet. So here’s to the imperfect perfect and our master bedroom makeover! All the products I’ve used are listed at the bottom of this post.
First of course I must start with the before and after. Our walls were painted a deep creamy colour and featured golden curtains. I wanted our room to feel fresh and modern, and a little bit moody.
Our house is mainly painted in Resene’s Seafog. It’s a greyish white that I really love! I decided on Seafog for three of the walls, but wanted something a bit darker as a feature wall. I decided on Valspar’s Absolutely which is almost black. Hubby definitely wasn’t sure to begin with but now he’s really pleased with how it’s turned out.
And before you all ask, the lamp is from Kmart. Of course.
Our bedroom was one of the places that I would kind of cringe at any time I walked in. It had amazing potential but needed a little bit of a facelift!
I sourced these drawers second hand from Trade Me. Aren’t they stunning? I sanded back the legs and top. It completes our room perfectly.
Where to find everything in our room:
Paint: Resene Seafog and Valspar Absolutely
Duvet + Cushions: Ikea
Pink Fluffy Cushion: Briscoes
Side tables: Briscoes
Concrete lamp: Kmart
White lamp: The Warehouse
Ladder shelf: Kmart
Artwork: Kmart frames
Bamboo wall hanging: Love from Seventeen
