This meat ball recipe is a classic from my Mum’s cook book. I was always happy to see this appear on my plate when I was little. Now they’re one of my husband’s favourites too! Today I’ve also included a printable recipe card for you. Bonus!
For the meatballs you will need:
- 450g mince
- 1 onion
- 1 1/2 teaspoons parsley
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 egg
- salt and pepper
For the sauce you will need:
- 3 teaspoons plum jam
- 1/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup tomato sauce (or ketchup)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Mix all the meatball ingredients in a bowl. Roll into balls and brown in a frying pan.Put all the ingredients for the sauce in a pot and mix together. Heat until combined and smooth. Add a little cornflour to thicken the sauce if need be. Pour the sauce over meatballs and cook in a moderate oven for 30-60 minutes.
Cook up some veggies too and you have yourself a yummy meal! If I have a lot of mince I’ll make up a whole lot of these and and put some in the freezer. This recipe is a good one to make for new mamas too since you can freeze them!
I thought I would make up a cute printable recipe card for you. Everyone loves free printables right? The cards come in five different pastel colours and have a patterned back. I’ve added them to my Freebies library. All you have to do is subscribe to my mailing list to get the password for it. Fill in the box below to join my crew! What a simple sauce recipe! Wonder if the kids will eat that one? Maybe if I say it is jam and tomato sauce they might give it a go!

When my siblings and I were little three of us loved them and then one of my sisters always requested no sauce! Super simple and yummy!
